For years, the KBC Nacht van de Atletiek has been the go-to meet for athletes aiming to break personal and seasonal bests. This year, we’re raising the bar: on Saturday, July 19th, the Wavelight pacing system will light up the track in Heusden-Zolder for the very first time.
What is Wavelight?
Wavelight is an advanced pacing system that uses LED lights along the inside of the track to indicate a steady target pace. It provides athletes with real-time visual feedback on their position relative to a pre-set tempo—whether it’s the pace for a personal best, qualification standard, or even a meeting record. The result? Consistent lap times, smarter racing strategies, and an extra push toward fast finishes.
An experience for both athletes and fans
Wavelight doesn’t just benefit the athletes. Spectators instantly see whether a runner is on pace, adding a whole new level of excitement to every race. You can quite literally see the chase for time unfold in front of you.
Whether you’re cheering for Belgium’s finest or anticipating top international performances, Wavelight brings a new layer of energy and spectacle to the track.
Be there on July 19th in Heusden-Zolder—where light meets speed.
